54 injured in explosion at mosque in Jakarta, Indonesia’s capital

An explosion during prayers at a school complex inside a mosque in Jakarta, Indonesia’s capital, left 54 people injured on Friday (7). Following the incident, a bomb disposal team was also sent to the scene. Security was heightened around the mosque, and police have launched investigations into the cause of the blast in Kelapa Gading, northern Jakarta, according to the city’s police chief, Asep Edi Suheri. The injured were taken to the hospital, with authorities noting that injuries ranged from minor to severe, including burns. (updating)
