SHARJAH, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Saim Ayub and Hasan Nawaz displayed excellent batting form to guide Pakistan to a comfortable 31-run win over United Arab Emirates in the Twenty20 Tri-series held in Sharjah on Saturday. Ayub, a left-handed batter, scored an impressive 69 runs from 38 balls, while Nawaz also shined with a quick-fire half century of 54 off 27 deliveries. Their aggressive batting propelled Pakistan to a challenging total of 185 for 4 in the allotted 20 overs. UAE started their chase positively but struggled to keep up with the required run rate. In the end, they fell short, finishing on 154 for 9 despite a valiant effort from their batters. Pakistan’s bowlers put on a disciplined performance, with Mohammad Wasim Jr. being the pick of the bowlers, claiming 3 wickets for 31 runs in his quota of 4 overs. The victory saw Pakistan maintain their unbeaten record in the triangular series, having won both of their matches so far. The performance of Ayub and Nawaz would have pleased the Pakistan team management, providing them with valuable options in the middle order for future matches.
