The chairman of the Jewish Agency, Maj. Gen. (res.) Doron Almog, has canceled a planned trip to South Africa due to fears that authorities in that country could seek his arrest, the agency said Sunday. The decision was made as a precaution, in order to avoid any potential legal issues that may arise from accusations of ‘war crimes’ made against him. Almog, a former IDF general, was concerned about facing charges related to Israel’s actions in Gaza. The decision to forgo the visit was necessary to ensure his safety and prevent any diplomatic incidents.
