All eyes are on the Brazilian national team, not only because its coach is Carlo Ancelotti, but also because its coaching staff consists of professionals with vast experience, who have worked in various leagues around the world and know many of the players in the squad. However, this was not the only characteristic that made the Brazilian training go viral; the main protagonist of the preparation was Paul Clement, one of the Italian coach’s assistants, who appears in a video conducting the training with instructions in three languages. A video of the team’s training, preparing to face Chile in the 17th and penultimate round of the qualifiers, showed how Ancelotti’s assistant spoke to the players in English, Italian, and Spanish. The Englishman, who worked with Ancelotti for several years, demonstrated his mastery of Spanish. Clement did not use Portuguese to communicate with the players. As several of them play in the Premier League (eleven of the called-up players play in the English league), they understood the British man’s expressions. However, he also spoke Italian at various times.
