Xi Jinping holds talks with Kim Jong-un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission

On the evening of September 4, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China and President Xi Jinping held talks at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing with Kim Jong-un, who was in China to attend the 80th anniversary commemoration of the Chinese people’s resistance against the Japanese aggression and the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War. The meeting was held as part of the commemorative activities. Xi Jinping emphasized the strong ties between China and North Korea, describing them as good neighbors, friends, and comrades who share a common destiny. The friendship between the two countries is long-standing, as both are led by communist parties. The Chinese President expressed the importance of maintaining the traditional friendship between China and North Korea for the benefit of both nations.
