Biden Undergoes Surgery for Skin Cancer, Agency Reports

The procedure, known as Mohs surgery, is commonly used to treat the most common forms of skin cancer. The surgery takes place a few months after Biden, 82, revealed in May that he had been diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer. His team described the disease as aggressive but hormone-sensitive, meaning it is likely to respond well to treatment. Biden had previously had a skin lesion removed during a routine physical exam in 2023, while he was president. This lesion was identified as basal cell carcinoma.
