Yue Opera ‘The Most Fragrant Daughter’ Shines at Greater Bay Area Arts Festival, Unlocking Ultimate Romance Across Time and Space

On the evening of September 5th, the Guangdong Yue Opera Theatre’s new production ‘The Most Fragrant Daughter’ successfully premiered at the Guangdong Yue Opera Art Center. The play was selected as a featured production at the 5th Greater Bay Area Cultural and Arts Festival, and on the evening of September 6th, it will continue to delight audiences in Guangdong with a splendid performance. The first opera to debut at the Greater Bay Area Arts Festival, ‘The Most Fragrant Daughter’ was written by first-class playwright Sheng Heyu. Award-winning Chinese drama director Zhang Manjun directed and adapted the Yue Opera. The leading roles are played by two-time winner of the Wen Hua Award and Plum Blossom Award Zeng Xiaomin and first-class actor Huang Chunqiang. The play received support from the Guangdong Provincial Literary and Artistic Support Fund and the Dongguan Cultural Development Fund.
