China’s Foreign Exchange Reserves Rise to $3.3 Trillion at the End of August, Central Bank Continues to Increase Gold Holdings for 10 Consecutive Months

China’s foreign exchange reserves rose to $3.3 trillion at the end of August, with the official gold reserves increasing by 60,000 ounces, reaching a total of 74.02 million ounces. Compared to the end of October 2024, China’s current round of gold reserve increases has reached 1.22 million ounces. Due to factors such as exchange rate conversion, China’s foreign exchange reserve balance rose to $3.3 trillion by the end of August, with the gold reserve continuing to increase slightly to 74.02 million ounces. This marks the 10th consecutive month of gold reserve increases by the central bank.
