‘BRICS Can Review Trade Flows Among Member States’: EAM Jaishankar Expresses Concern About Current ‘Trade Patterns’

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar suggested on Monday that BRICS nations should consider reviewing trade flows among member states as the world is currently seeking a stable and predictable environment for trade and investment. His comments come in the midst of escalating tensions between India and the US, triggered by the US imposing additional penal tariffs on India for purchasing Russian oil. Jaishankar had previously expressed confusion over the rationale behind the decision, highlighting that China, not India, is the largest buyer of Russian oil.
