The US Department of the Treasury announced that the logistics company Fracht FWO from Houston will pay a fine of $1.61 million for alleged violations of sanctions against Venezuela and Iran. The company had reportedly engaged in contracts with a sanctioned Venezuelan state airline to transport goods from Mexico to Argentina on behalf of a client. This involved the use of an aircraft blocked by the US, operated by the also sanctioned Iranian airline Mahan Air.
