Yemen’s Houthi-run Health Ministry announced on Thursday that the casualties from Israel’s attacks on Wednesday had increased to 46 dead and 165 wounded. The strikes conducted by Israel hit the Yemeni capital Sanaa and the northern province of al-Jawf. These attacks are part of a series of exchanges of strikes between Israel and the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen, which are a consequence of the conflict in Gaza. The recent strike was preceded by one on August 30 in Sanaa that resulted in the death of the prime minister of the Houthi-led government and several ministers, marking the first time senior officials were targeted in such an assault.
