VIDEO: Employee Entertains Katy Perry Fans on The Town Train with ‘My Name is Julia’ Meme

On the final day of The Town 2025, American singer Katy Perry is the main attraction, with hits like ‘Firework,’ ‘I Kissed a Girl,’ and ‘Hot N Cold’ expected to be performed at the 11:15 pm show on the Skyline stage. Another song that cannot be left out is a favorite of Brazilians: ‘Dark Horse,’ which inspired a meme that has been entertaining fans for over a decade and has been repeated during the California artist’s shows here.
Whether the meme is overused or not, the truth is that for many, it’s automatic to sing ‘My Name is Julia’ during the song’s chorus, just like the girl Julia, who went viral by performing it millions of times on YouTube.
This was the case for fans who took the express train to The Town on Sunday afternoon in Sao Paulo. A ViaMobilidade employee, who was guiding passengers on the platform, got the audience in the mood for the show early on by playing Katy Perry’s music on his phone and amplifying the sound with a megaphone.
After the crowd tentatively sang the song ‘Roar,’ the employee played ‘Dark Horse,’ which got the waiting fans more excited. As expected, during the chorus, all that could be heard was ‘my name is Julia,’ leading many to record the moment and laugh. See it here:

The second edition of The Town, a music festival by the same creators of Rock in Rio, is concluding on Sunday (14) in Sao Paulo. With over 100 shows and 500 Brazilian and international artists in the line-up, the event covers various music genres.
