10 Countries Reject Palestinian Independence, Including US, Israel, and Papua New Guinea

The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) issued the results of the New York Declaration resolution on the peaceful resolution between Palestine and Israel. In general, this resolution supports the recognition of an independent Palestinian state and the implementation of a solution. Among the 10 countries rejecting Palestinian independence is Indonesia, a neighbor. The resolution calls for both Israel and Palestine to resume negotiations towards a two-state solution, also criticizing Israeli settlements in the West Bank as illegal under international law.
