Corinthians’ Rodrigo Garro suffers calf injury, increasing injury list

Corinthians informed today that Argentine midfielder Rodrigo Garro underwent exams and was diagnosed with a grade 2 calf injury in his right leg. Garro felt discomfort last Saturday during the warm-up for the match against Fluminense at Maracanã Stadium in the Brazilian Championship and was ruled out of the game. He has already started recovery with the club’s physiotherapy and will miss the next match against Sport.

With this injury, Garro joins five other Corinthians players sidelined due to injuries. The medical department currently includes Raniele in physical transition, Memphis Depay with a thigh edema, Charles with knee pain, José Martínez with ankle trauma, and André Carrillo recovering from ankle surgery.

On the other hand, looking ahead to the Sport game, coach Dorival Júnior will have midfielder Breno Bidon back after suspension in the 1-0 victory over Fluminense. However, forward Gui Negão received his third yellow card and will be suspended.

Struggling with physical problems since the end of last season, Rodrigo Garro has modest stats in 2025. In 26 matches played for Corinthians, 19 as a starter, he scored only two goals and provided five assists.
