UN Votes To Reimpose Sanctions On Iran Over Resurgent Nuclear Programme

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that he had put forward a ‘fair and balanced’ proposal to European powers in an effort to prevent the return of sanctions. The United Nations Security Council, on the other hand, voted on Friday to reinstate significant economic sanctions on Iran due to concerns over the country’s resurgent nuclear program. Araghchi’s proposal aimed to address the issues raised by the Security Council and find a mutually agreeable solution. However, the Council proceeded with the decision to reimpose sanctions.
