The fifth Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area Cultural and Arts Festival is in full swing. Renowned playwright, drama theorist, professor at the Shanghai Theatre Academy, and former Vice Chairman of the China Theatre Association, Luo Huaizhen, came to Guangzhou to deliver an enlightening art lecture ‘The Persistence and Breakthrough of Contemporary Drama Development’ to the audience in the Greater Bay Area with his profound insights. As a playwright, Luo Huaizhen has achieved remarkable success, with a wide range of works from Kunqu Opera ‘Ban Zhao’ to Huai Opera ‘The Golden Dragon and the Mayfly’, from Hunan Opera ‘The Wife’s Visit’ to Yue Opera ‘My Grand Garden’, from the dance drama ‘Zhu Yuan’ to ‘The Never Fading Radio Waves’, creating several groundbreaking and popular works across multiple theatrical genres.
