High risk Sunday of heavy rain and severe weather

MetSul Meteorology reiterates the alert that this Sunday will be marked by intense instability in Rio Grande do Sul with heavy to locally intense rain in various areas and a very high risk of thunderstorms with hail and gusty winds. A cold front will advance through Rio Grande do Sul on Sunday with warm air ahead of it brought by a low-level jet stream, responsible for Saturday being the hottest day of 2025 so far in parts of Paraná, forming very dense clouds and a large number of storms in the state. However, due to the advance of warm air from the West, strong to intense areas of localized instability may occur on Saturday night and Sunday morning with a risk of heavy rain, lightning, strong winds, and isolated hail in the Eastern Half of Rio Grande do Sul.
