Max Verstappen won his second consecutive Formula 1 race, leading from start to finish, in the worst weekend for the championship leaders, McLaren, in the first race where they could have clinched the constructors’ championship. George Russell, from Mercedes, finished second and Carlos Sainz, from Williams, achieved his first podium for the English team, converting his second grid position. The race lasted only a few laps for the championship leader, Oscar Piastri. The Australian first jumped the start, then had a bad start, dropping to last place, and, trying to recover, crashed on his own, causing a Safety Car on the first lap of the race.
