EU and Indonesia reach agreement on trade and investments

The EU and Indonesia have concluded negotiations for a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (Cepa) and an Investment Protection Agreement (Ipa). The agreement, according to Brussels, significantly reduces tariffs, opens up the Indonesian market, and protects key sectors, as stated by an EU official. This deal represents a major step towards boosting economic ties between the EU and Indonesia and fostering greater cooperation between the two regions. The agreement is expected to create new opportunities for businesses on both sides, increasing trade and investment flows. As a result of the agreement, Indonesian businesses will benefit from improved access to the EU market and reduced trade barriers.
