The UN Security Council will reinstate six resolutions adopted between 2006 and 2010 against Iran at midnight, aiming to limit the nuclear and missile program of the Islamic Republic. The UK, Germany, and France – countries known for their strong stance on Iran’s nuclear activities – are in full support of reinstating these sanctions. These measures were initially lifted as part of the Iran nuclear deal, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), in 2015. However, the recent tensions and non-compliance issues from Iran have led to the decision to reimpose the sanctions by the UN.
