In recent days, the Republican has been talking about the prospect of a ceasefire. The reaction to his plan in Israel has been mixed. Israel’s Minister of Public Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, from the far-right, urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to reject the plan. ‘Mr. Prime Minister, you do not have a mandate to end the war without the complete defeat of Hamas,’ he wrote in the X yesterday.
