On September 28, parliamentary elections were held in Moldova, which became some of the most tense in recent years. According to preliminary data from the Central Election Commission, the ruling Action and Solidarity Party established by President Maia Sandu maintained its lead by winning nearly half of the votes. The PAS secured 63 out of 101 seats in Parliament, enabling them to form a strong government without the need for coalitions. Despite the victory, the PAS faced strong competition from the pro-Russian socialist party, which formed a significant opposition bloc.
