Market watchdog, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi), has opposed the plea of former stockbroker Ketan Parekh to travel overseas in the near future. Sebi pointed out previous instances where Parekh misused foreign travel permissions for illegal activities, leading to financial market disturbances. As a result, Sebi raised concerns about allowing Parekh to visit countries such as the United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Georgia, South Africa, and various locations within the European Union.
