Like Iran, we jail people without end in this country too

There is a stark parallel between the indefinite imprisonment practices in Iran and the UK. Despite the ban on public protection sentences in 2012, around 2,000 individuals are still subjected to this bleak reality. In both countries, the sense of never reaching the end of the rainbow weighs heavily on those incarcerated. Many of my former cellmates in Iran grappled with the despair of indefinite detention, leading to severe mental health issues and suicidal thoughts.
