Indonesian Education Minister Criticized by Prabowo: Overboard if Unable to Fix System

Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto criticized the high-ranking state officials, from ministers to agency leaders and even the National Police Chief, who have completed their education to obtain a doctoral degree. He emphasized that intelligence and academic degrees should be used to serve and benefit the people. Prabowo highlighted the need for government officials with high educational qualifications to be able to effectively address and improve the governance system in Indonesia. He stressed that having a doctoral degree should translate into tangible improvements in the government’s performance and service delivery.
