The South African ambassador to France, Emmanuel Nkosinathi Mthethwa, also known as Nathi Mthethwa, was discovered deceased on Tuesday morning at the base of a luxury hotel tower in western Paris, as confirmed by a French prosecutor. His tragic fate followed a worrying incident when the 58-year-old ambassador had been reported missing the night before, sparked by a distressing message sent to his wife. In the message, he apologized and indicated his intention to take his own life.
