Makeshift scaffolding set up at the Menjar Shenkora Arerti Mariam Church in Ethiopia collapsed, resulting in the tragic death of at least 36 individuals and causing injuries to many more, according to state media reports. The incident took place at around 7:45 am local time on Wednesday in Arerti, a town located in the Amhara region. Pilgrims had gathered at the church to commemorate the annual festival honoring the Virgin Mary.
