In the midfield, Martinelli and Hércules put in commendable performances, with Martinelli scoring a disallowed goal and Hércules adapting well to the physicality of the game. Lucho Acosta stole the show with his outstanding display, showcasing his versatility and skill on the field.
The attacking trio of Lima, Canobbio, and Soteldo had varied contributions to the game, with moments of brilliance overshadowed by missed opportunities. Cano and John Kennedy made significant impacts off the bench, with Kennedy scoring a penalty. Serna had a challenging outing, struggling to find his rhythm throughout the match. Coach Luis Zubeldía faced challenges in converting their dominance into goals, ultimately leading to a late equalizer by Sport. Overall, Fluminense showed glimpses of brilliance but lacked the clinical edge to secure a victory.
