Administrative Reform: PEC Limits Supersalaries, Bans 60-Day Vacations, and Establishes Rules for Contests

The administrative reform in the Chamber will propose a single salary table for all Brazilian public service, introduce a performance evaluation measure for civil servants, and restrict payment of supersalaries. The contents of the proposals to be presented by Deputy Pedro Paulo (PSD-RJ), coordinator of the Working Group on reform, in the Chamber were accessed by Estadão. The package includes a Constitutional Amendment Proposal (PEC), a bill, and a Complementary Law Project (PLP). The main points include banning routine and permanent ‘perks’ and indiscriminate provision of funds to an entire category, ending the current practice. Food, health, and transportation allowances will not be subject to this restriction.
