US President Donald Trump’s administration has authorized $230 million for Lebanon’s security forces in an effort to disarm Hezbollah, a terror group backed by Iran. Sources in Washington and Beirut confirmed the approval on Thursday. The funds are intended to increase pressure on Hezbollah to lay down its weapons, as Israeli drone strikes recently targeted fighters in southern Lebanon, resulting in the deaths of three operatives. The support from the US aims to bolster Lebanese forces in their ongoing campaign.
