Munich Airport in Germany notified the suspension of its activities after drones were spotted in the airspace on Friday (3) local time, Thursday night (2) Brasília time. The airport reported that 17 flights have been canceled, with 15 others diverted to Stuttgart, Nuremberg, Vienna, and Frankfurt, impacting around 3,000 passengers. This incident is not an isolated case in Europe, as recent drone intrusions into NATO airspace by Russia have raised tensions in the region. The situation escalated after Poland, Romania, and Estonia reported Russian drones violating their airspace, prompting military responses to protect their boundaries.
