The Hamas responded on Friday (3) to the U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal for Gaza by agreeing to release all hostages and showing readiness to negotiate the agreement’s specifics. In a statement sent to Qatari mediators, the group emphasized the desire to end the conflict, which they characterized as ‘genocide against the Palestinian people.’ The decision, according to Hamas, was made after in-depth consultations with leaders, Palestinian factions, and mediators. The movement also reiterated its approval to hand over the administration of Gaza to a Palestinian body of independents (technocrats) based on Palestinian national consensus and supported by Arab and Islamic backing. According to Hamas’ statement, other issues regarding Gaza’s future, including Palestinian rights, will be discussed later with the group’s participation.
