Fearing permanent exile, Palestinian refugees in Egypt struggle to rebuild their lives

Stepping into Boulaq Al Dakrour on the edge of central Cairo, just west of the Nile, is like entering a different world. The streets are narrow, bustling, and disorderly with a mix of transportation modes. Horses, mules, cars, motorcycles, and tuk-tuks, the three-wheeled motorized rickshaws, populate the area, creating a unique atmosphere. Tens of thousands of Palestinian refugees call this area home, having been displaced from their homeland with no clear path to return.
