US envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff are currently in Egypt to continue discussions aimed at achieving a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. This follows Hamas’s recent indication of willingness to release hostages as part of President Trump’s peace initiative. Delegations from both Israel and Hamas are scheduled to meet in order to finalize arrangements for the release and exchange of prisoners.
