Twins discover and treat cancer together

Cristiane shares that it all started in August 2024: “I saw a customer who often came to the market and, that day, she had a shaved head. I asked the man she was talking to, and he told me she was undergoing cancer treatment. So, on that same day, I got home, checked myself in the shower, and felt something strange,” she recalls. Just a few days later, Cristina decided to repeat her sister’s gesture. “A week after she found out, I decided to do a self-exam and also found a lump in my left breast, on the same side as hers,” she says. The diagnosis came quickly. “The doctor, on the same day as the mammogram, already scheduled an ultrasound and collected material for a biopsy, but warned me that everything indicated it was cancer, but it was in the early stages and treatable,” adds Cristina.
