Botafogo’s goalkeeper John called up to the Brazilian National Team in place of Ederson

Former Botafogo player John is a new addition to the Brazilian National Team. The Nottingham Forest goalkeeper was called up by Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti on Sunday for the friendly matches against South Korea and Japan. Four players who won the Libertadores and the Brazilian Championship in 2024 with Botafogo were called up: John, Vitinho, Luiz Henrique, and Igor Jesus. According to CBF’s news, ‘Coach Carlo Ancelotti called up goalkeeper John, who plays for Nottingham Forest in England, for Brazil’s matches against South Korea and Japan on October 10 and 14, respectively. He will be taking Ederson’s place as the latter was ruled out due to an injury suffered during training on Saturday (4) by his team.’
