German teenager arrested in June by Iran for “espionage”, has been acquitted

The Iranian judicial system announced on Monday, October 6, the “acquittal” of a young French-German national who was arrested in June in Iran and accused of “espionage”, a charge that had never been officially specified by the authorities. Lennart Monterlos, 19 years old, was detained on June 16 in Bandar-Abbas. He was in the midst of a solo cycling trip through the country when he was arrested. This incident occurred on the third day of the conflict between Iran and Israel.
