The recent Israel-Hamas war is just the latest chapter in a conflict that dates back over 2,500 years. In 1975, the leaders of Egypt, Israel, and Iran embarked on peace talks that showcased a glimmer of hope in the region’s tumultuous history. Anwar Sadat, Yitzhak Rabin, and the Shah of Iran paid a high price for their negotiations, with Sadat ultimately assassinated for his efforts.
