Iran and South Africa to Sign Deal for Uranium Purchase

Washington, Oct. 12: According to a report from The Hindu dated October 13, 1975, Iran and South Africa are in the final stages of negotiations for an agreement where Iran will purchase approximately a billion dollars (Rs. 800 crores) worth of South Africa uranium. This deal is expected to be the largest single sale of uranium in history. The transaction holds significant strategic importance given the use of uranium in various industries, particularly in the nuclear sector.
