China’s Challenge to India in World Trade Organization

The Indian side has stated that the Union Ministry of Commerce will examine China’s detailed petition challenging India’s policies on providing incentives to solar vehicles and batteries. China has put forth a challenge against India at the World Trade Organization regarding India’s policies in providing incentives to solar vehicles and batteries. The Chinese Department of Commerce has stated: India’s policy on providing incentives to solar-powered vehicles and batteries is in violation of several provisions of the World Trade Organization. India’s trade policy, among other aspects, discriminates against foreign products and constitutes a restrictive trade practice that violates WTO regulations.
