The bus that overturned, resulting in 15 deaths and 17 injuries on BR-423 between the municipalities of Paranatama and Saloá in Pernambuco, was returning to Brumado, a city in the southwest of Bahia. According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the victims include 11 women and four men, with their identities yet to be disclosed. The bus had departed from Brumado heading to Santa Cruz do Capibaribe in the Agreste region of Pernambuco before the tragic accident occurred on a stretch known as Serra dos Ventos.
