TEHRAN, AUG 06 – Ali Larijani, the main advisor to leader Ali Khamenei, has been appointed secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) by President Masoud Pezeshkian. Larijani replaces Ali Akbar Ahmadian, who held the position under the previous government in recent years. Larijani, known for his conservative views, previously served as the speaker of Iran’s parliament. His new role as the head of the SNSC is seen as a strategic move by President Pezeshkian to strengthen national security and foreign policy.
