Concerns About Smuggled Drones from Belarus Stir Tensions in Lithuania

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda has proposed considering restrictions on transit in Kaliningrad if drones with contraband from Belarus continue to fly into the country’s airspace. Vilnius Airport has already intercepted smuggled drones three times this week. The president expressed concern about the potential security risks posed by these flights and emphasized the need for a response to this ongoing issue. Nauseda’s suggestion of limiting transit through Kaliningrad serves as a warning to Belarus regarding the consequences of permitting such activities. He urged authorities to address the situation promptly to prevent further incidents.
