ASEAN-Japan Expands Digital Economy and Financial Connectivity Collaboration

Prabowo referred to the ASEAN-Japan cooperation as an anchor for peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region amid global uncertainty. Indonesia appreciates Japan’s support for ASEAN centrality and commitment to regional prosperity. Emphasizing the importance of implementing the ASEAN-Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership and RCEP, President Prabowo expressed his hope that Indonesia-Japan cooperation would strengthen regional peace. He made these comments during the 28th ASEAN-Japan Summit held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Praising Japan’s backing for ASEAN centrality and its continuous commitment to achieving peace, prosperity, and stability in the Indo-Pacific region, Prabowo highlighted the need to bolster inclusive economic cooperation through effective implementation of the ASEAN-Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership and RCEP. He also expanded collaboration in digital economy and financial connectivity. President Prabowo stressed the need to uphold energy transition as a strategic priority.
