The Education Fund Management Agency (LPDP) provides a number of affirmative scholarships for prospective Indonesian students. One of them is called the Disability Scholarship. According to the Disability Applicant Registration Guidelines Phase 2 for 2025, the Disability Scholarship is aimed at people with disabilities who meet LPDP’s requirements. Applicants are required to submit a statement from a doctor, psychologist, psychiatrist, or audiologist from a hospital or community health center. This statement should declare that the applicant, with their disability, experiences obstacles and difficulties in participating fully and effectively. The signatory of the statement should correspond to the type of disability.
People with Physical Disabilities, Intellectual Disabilities, Mental Disabilities, Sensory Disabilities, or Multiple Disabilities can apply for LPDP Affirmative Disability Scholarships. If an applicant’s disability does not fall within these categories, LPDP may take several steps, such as transferring them to another eligible scholarship program or declaring them ineligible for LPDP scholarships at specific selection stages.
For Disability Scholarship applicants based on the 2025 registration opening: Maximum age of 42 for master’s degree applicants and 47 for doctoral applicants, Minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale for master’s degree applicants and 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for doctoral applicants, Indonesian applicants for master’s or doctoral scholarships do not need a certificate of English proficiency. However, international applicants must meet the minimum English language score by achieving a certain level in TOEFL, PTE Academic, IELTS, Duolingo English Test, or TOEP. The English language certificate must be valid for the last 2 years, at least until the announcement of the results dispute in the respective registration period.
