In India, the Election Commission has announced a special intense revision of the electoral roll which is the second phase of the special intense revision involving 10 states and 2 Union territories including Tamil Nadu, conducted in 12 locations. In Delhi today, Chief Election Commissioner Gnanesh Kumar revealed the meticulous process aimed at removing duplicate names and those of deceased individuals from the voters list. The major opposition party, Congress, criticized the special intense revision conducted in Delhi, labeling it as ‘voter manipulation.’ Furthermore, Congress confessed to manipulating data by removing names of genuine voters from the electoral roll.
