President Prabowo Subianto has publicly stated that Indonesia, the world’s largest Muslim-majority nation, is willing to deploy up to 20,000 soldiers to Gaza for security during a ceasefire and reconstruction. At the US-Asean summit, Prabowo reaffirmed this commitment in the presence of US President Donald Trump, aiming to place Indonesia on ‘the right side of history’ and contribute to ‘lasting peace’ in the region. ‘Indonesia appreciates the Sharm el-Sheikh Peace Summit outcomes and your leadership in promoting a credible road map for lasting peace. Our focus now is on implementation, turning words into tangible actions,’ said Prabowo.
