Toyota discusses partnership schemes with dealers in Russia: first details revealed

Toyota recently held a secret meeting with major Russian dealers, as reported by Autonews.ru. Former head of the ‘Russian Automotive Dealers Association’ (ROAD) Oleg Mosyev confirmed the interest in resuming activities in Russia. According to Mosyev, the Japanese company has already organized several dealer conferences and is lobbying to import their cars through China. Participants of the meeting, according to a source from one of the dealer networks, signed non-disclosure agreements after a gathering that took place following the meeting between the Presidents of Russia and the USA, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, in Alaska. The discussions at the meeting revolved around potential partnership arrangements between the Japanese brand and the dealers, with Autonews.ru’s source refusing to disclose further details. Autonews.ru has reached out to the representatives of the Japanese brand for an official statement.
