Egyptian officials have high hopes for the inauguration of a vast new museum on November 1, 2025, aiming to breathe new life into the country’s tourism industry. Hindered by internal turmoil, a pandemic, and conflicts in the region, the tourism sector has faced challenges for over a decade. The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), overlooking the Giza Pyramids, is expected to draw an additional 7 million visitors each year following its opening, potentially increasing total visitors to around 30 million by 2030.
