President Lula (PT) will decree tomorrow the implementation of a Guarantee of Law and Order (GLO) operation in Belém (PA) during COP30. The United Nations climate event is scheduled to take place between November 10 and 21. The GLO decree is expected to be published tomorrow (31) in an extra edition of the Official Gazette. Decreeing GLO is an exclusive prerogative of the President of the Republic and allows the Armed Forces to act in public security. The operation was requested by the Governor of Pará, Helder Barbalho (MDB), but Lula is hesitant about such measures.
